About Ron S. - Inspired by the classic dance sounds of Chicago and Detroit, Ron S seeks to provide a more raw expression of emotion through machine music, embracing the essence of original underground techno. While he cut his teeth DJ'ing at underground clubs, raves, and after hours parties around the Midwest in the mid-90’s, Ron's shift to live performances over the last 12 years (using hardware synthesizers, samplers, and drum machines), create a truly customized blend of productions and remixes for each event. Ron’s production skills and ethos emerged from a modest collection of used machines in he started collecting in 1995, and he soon started the first electronic music label from St. Louis, Anode Records, in 1996. He produced a series of 10 vinyl releases on his own Anode imprint over the years, and is approaching 2024 with a renewed vigor for St. Louis' original techno label in the digital domain. In addition to his releases on Anode label, Ron has released tracks of techno and house music around the world on the 314 Techno, Deep Taste, Three Dot House, Sweep the Floor, Demiurge, U-Neq, and Symbolic Insight labels.
