The Assortment Presents: A 2000s Beach Party feat. Michael Grey!!!

This will be the very first Assortment theme night, and hopefully not the last! We all know how warm and toasty it can get inside of Morts in the summer, so why not throw a beach party of epic proportions?!?!?! All music will be exclusively from the 2000s, and will encompass all of the normal Assortment genres (Hip-Hop, R&B, House, EDM, Pop, etc,). The talented Morgan Lust will be hosting the photo booth from 11pm-12am, so you don't want to miss out on that either. Dressing up is encouraged, but not required.

The Assortment is a safe and inclusive dance party where people from all walks of life can gather and express themselves freely. That being said, let's dance, sing and sweat to the sweet sounds of Hip-Hop, R&B, EDM, Pop, New Wave, Disco and much, much more!

What is The Assortment?
The worst, most cliché habit of a self-proclaimed music enthusiast is to sneer and dismiss popular music as a whole. The Assortment is a pure rejection of that attitude. Michael Todd Grey, a lover of music, holds to the philosophy that LCD Soundsystem, Ariana Grande, and Outkast can and should be heard together. Pop music is not a dirty word, and music whose appeal is based in unhindered fun can be just as affirming as the underground and independent music that is more “intellectual.” The Assortment is a monthly dance night, the third Saturday of every month, that brings together an eclectic mix in hip-hop, pop, R&B, and others – an assortment. It is a safe, non-judgmental environment catering to diverse people with deeply diverse tastes in music.
