FUTURE MUSIC is electronic music from a period in time where these sounds still evoked visions of THE FUTURE-- versus a continual repetition and faster and faster recombination of past themes.

We are loosely defining this era to be that late 80s-very early 90s period when previous underground genres such as Belgian new beat, bakalao, acid house and early techno from the USA began to cross the globe, mutate, and finally break through. Just as the instruments themselves were transforming to digital and -- increasingly -- samplers, tracker programs and computers were being used. You might hear any of those genres and many more -- certainly it is an excuse to dig in the crates a bit, yet mainstream hits are not out of the question and it could get rave-y, at times. Certainly a reach back or forward a few years seems appropriate. Basically lets just have fun and dance for a few hours to old cuts that still sounds huge and not think too hard cause life is tough enough not to dance through it and there's only 16 steps to happiness.
