Growing up in both Detroit and Chicago, has spent his life immersed in music. His unique style blends familiar, recognizable beats with obscure tracks, creating an unpredictable soundscape that keeps crowds moving. With roots in record collecting, his passion for music naturally evolved into DJing. By the late '90s, Katalist had refined his quick mixing skills, gaining attention from promoters across Michigan and beyond, leading to gigs nationwide.
For over two decades, Katalist has held residencies at some of Detroit's most iconic venues and played at major local festivals like TecTroit, Arts, Beats & Eats, and Bang the Bell. He currently runs the weekly "Night Moves" event in Royal Oak and is behind the renowned "Bang the Book" party during Movement.
Beyond the decks, Katalist is a force in the electronic music scene, co-running Bang Tech 12, producing original tracks, and promoting events with Beretta Music and Sonic Natives. His Twitch channel has expanded his reach globally, marking a new era of creativity and recognition in recent years. Known for his love of the unexpected and seamless transitions, Katalist continues to evolve while staying true to his roots, consistently delivering captivating performances that fans and industry insiders alike can't get enough of.
