DJ King Otto

DJ King Otto is a veteran DJ whose journey began in Seattle, where he first immersed himself in hip-hop culture as a B-boy and graffiti artist before gravitating toward turntables. In 2002 he relocated to Minneapolis with a world-renowned collection of 45-RPM vinyl, and quickly became a fixture in the Twin Cities’ club and music-venue scene. Known for his deep knowledge of vinyl and old-school hip-hop roots, King Otto has shared the stage with major acts such as Atmosphere, The Roots, and Sharon Jones. While rooted in hip-hop culture, King Otto spins a variety spanning from 50s/60s soul to disco-funk of the golden eras.

Over the years, King Otto has developed a reputation among vinyl purists and hip-hop heads alike for his crate-digging and authentic sets. He is not only a live-show DJ, but also hosts an all-45s radio show, Live From Latitude 45, on KRSM Radio (98.9 FM, Minneapolis), helping to sustain and celebrate the tradition of 7″ vinyl singles in the digital age. 

More recently, Otto has been based in Tucson, Arizona, where he continues to spin at multiple DJ nights around d the city.
